Despite the great capabilities of IP video intercoms, their primary task is to control the actuators of entrance doors and communicate with visitors. And most often, users want to customize some innovations specifically for these purposes. Therefore, one of the most popular questions on the topic is how to open an intercom using a telephone. This is especially true for large country houses or for people with disabilities.
In order for all this to be technically possible, it is necessary that the intercom equipment supports a connection to the network: either the entire system must be digital, or one network element (usually a monitor) is interfaced with the analog system, which will forward to the smartphone. Integration of a digital system into an analog one is possible thanks to special adapters - more on this below.
Direct connection of the IP intercom to the phone occurs through a mobile application from equipment developers. The primary connection is carried out in different ways:
- via the intercom IP address;
- via a Wi-Fi network provided by the intercom;
- via a QR code with a link to the application, etc.
The application interface, of course, is different for each manufacturer, but, for the most part, it is simple and understandable. As a rule, cameras (one or several) and all connected devices, buttons for answering calls and opening the door, setting up notifications, etc. are displayed there. This allows you to link the intercom to a smartphone.
