How to connect the energy meter TsE6807p

Devices of this series are used to meter consumed electricity. Currently, the TsE 6807 meter is not produced. Instead, manufacturers offer modern models with improved consumer characteristics. However, the information below will be useful for solving practical problems during operation.


The compact energy meter TsE6807p has good consumer characteristics

Description of the counter

This device performs its main functions using a shunt. High accuracy is ensured by calibration of the corresponding electrical resistance (up to hundredths of an Ohm). The voltage is constantly monitored using an inductive sensor. Using an electronic board, the received data is processed and time intervals are taken into account. The amount of energy consumed (formula E=U*I*t) is displayed using mechanical (electronic) indicators.

The signals to control the drive are generated by the controller. At the same time, pulses are sent to the verification LED. According to the standard control procedure during testing, the number of flashes over a standardized time interval is counted. In some modifications, optical isolation is installed to transmit readings to a remote telemetry system. To maintain a certain frequency (accurate fixation of time intervals), a standard quartz stabilizer circuit is used.

How does an electric meter work?

I got a working meter, they gave it to me because where it stood, the owner of the premises changed, and the new owner was obliged to change the meter.

There are usually 2 seals on the meter, one protects the meter terminals from unauthorized access, the second protects the electronic circuit of the meter. These seals are no longer on my meter.

We take out the guts and see that the electric meter circuit consists of three main parts:

This is 1) a stepper motor with numbers attached to its axis, 2) a board with a controller and 3) input terminals. As you can see, everything is Chinese (I hope, except for the terminals), which is why the price of such a meter is 650-750 rubles.

By the way, I haven’t seen it, but in Mercury the production of components is Russian. Who will confirm?

Terminals and board with controller. Everything is upside down, so the phase terminals of the meter are on the right, zero terminals are on the left, not as we are used to seeing.

The white and green wires are the output of the measuring shunt. The same shunt on which the voltage, proportional to the current through the phase terminals, “settles”. This voltage is supplied to the inputs of the board KT1 and KT2 and is supplied to the controller for processing.

Also, power for the controller is taken from the phase terminal; this is the yellow wire. Power supply is transformerless, through a capacitor, rectifier and 5VDC stabilizer.

The zero terminal is used to take the second pole to power the meter. And also in order to ensure connection, and to limit malicious schemes for turning on the meter.

From the output of the controller board through points M1.1 and M1.2, pulses are sent to the stepper motor. The one that is braked using a magnet. The pulse frequency is proportional to the current, and is additionally indicated by an LED.

This LED is used to check and verify the meter. Count the number of pulses in (for example) 5 minutes, and look at the correctness of the readings on the front panel.

The controller contains a program that generates pulses for the operation of the stepper motor.

By the way, the program can be changed, craftsmen do it. This way you can reduce the meter readings by 30 - 50%.

How to install an electric meter yourself

The full name of the device according to the established standard encodes the following characteristics:

  • X1 – measurement accuracy class, which for these meters should be no worse than 2nd;
  • X2 – rated voltage (220V);
  • Х3-Х4 – current values ​​(nominal and maximum);
  • X5 – electronic (E) or mechanical (M) method of displaying information, the number indicates the number of digits;
  • X6 – type of housing, taking into account the location of the equipment;
  • X7 – operating temperature range.

The following is indicated separately in the passport, on the case and in the accompanying documentation:

  • year of issue;
  • product serial number.

Purpose of the device

The Energomer TsE6803 V counter allows you to measure the active component of consumed power. The device was included in the register of measuring instruments and can keep records at one tariff.

This fact suggests that it cannot be used to separately calculate energy during the day and at night in accordance with the tariffs of the organization supplying electricity.

The device can be connected using three or four conductors. In the second case, not only phase conductors are used, but also the neutral wire. Direct or indirect (using transformers) connection to a 50 Hz network is also possible. The device can be installed outdoors, but only in cabinets that prevent dust or moisture from getting inside the meter.

When installing the device, the following requirements must be observed:

  • The operating temperature range should be from -40 to 60 degrees.
  • Air humidity cannot be higher than 98%.

Subject to all operating conditions and proper connection to the electrical network, the service life of the device is 30 years. The manufacturer provides a four-year warranty on its product from the moment the meter is put into operation.

Connecting the meter

Measuring instruments of this category are installed in series with electricity consumers. Typical algorithm of actions:
